Mama C's Boasting Blog - Day 3

I Chronicles 16:9
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

I am so happy to be heading back home to where my family, friends, and church are.  However, my husband is scared and kind of struggling with all of this.  Hence, my boasting for today:

I remember when we put a For Sale By Owner sign in the front yard of our last home and we got a buyer within a week.  Of course, that was during the market boom, so I will add another boast for today just in case there are some doubters of God's goodness.

I remember when we needed our boat to sell after we sold the aforementioned home and we ended up getting a buyer on our last day in the home.  In fact, the call from the buyer came while we were in the midst of praying for someone!  Talk about timing!  Oh how I praise the wonderful name of Jesus!  God is awesome!

Mama C's Boasting Blog - Day 2

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Okay...I'm not saying that if you praise God in the midst of bad circumstances that things will always immediately change, but this time they did!  Yesterday I was offered a job at a school in Florida, and I accepted it.  Not only that, but my current principal was able to fill my position within an hour of turning in the resignation letter!  That is unheard of!  (Okay, okay...enough with the exclamation points if I can help it.)  The way it turned out was that an intern on the 8th grade hall is graduating at the end of this week and needs a teaching position.  Imagine that.  Also, the intern who has been in my classroom needs to be placed with an experienced teacher, so he will be going to the classroom that the graduating intern is coming out of.  Talk about a perfect set-up.  Wow! God is awesome!

Hmmm...I'm pretty sure yesterday's miracle qualifies for this boasting blog.  :-)  More to come tomorrow.

Mama C's Boasting Blog - Day 1

Psalm 34:2
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

Yesterday our pastor challenged the congregation to remember good things the Lord has done for us rather than whining and complaining about our current situations.  He challenged us to do the following EACH AND EVERY DAY all the way until New Year's Day:
1. Think on at least one thing the Lord has done for you in the past.
2. Write it down.
3. Speak it.
4. Share it outside of the "holy huddle", aka church.

He said we would see great changes in our relationships, health, and overall well being if we will do these things.  I have decided to take him up on that challenge.  I have noticed myself complaining more and more lately due to the disdain I have for my current job.  I don't like what I have become, so I am choosing right here and now to make a change.  Yes, I will still hope and pray for a change in my job/career, but I want to do that without the whining and complaining.  Focusing on good things the Lord has done will help me with that.  Therefore, I have decided to start this boasting blog.  I will boast on the Lord each and every day...not just until New Year's Day, but for one full year.  At this time next year, I will write about how things have changed.

So here's my first boast:
I remember when I had a job doing some telemarketing for a newspaper in NSB, FL, and I HATED that job!  The Lord told me to praise Him for the job instead of complaining about it all the time and He would give me the desire of my heart.  I did, and He did!  After a few weeks of praising Him for my job...sometimes through clenched teeth...the editor of the newspaper called me into his office.  To my surprise, he asked me if I had ever thought of being a reporter.  What?!  Uh, yeah!  Only every hour of every day!  He said I was on his heart the night before and that he felt he was supposed to give me a chance to do some freelance reporting!  Whoo, hoo!  That was such a cool miracle, and it is just one example of how much God cares about me and my everyday life.  Thank you for that reminder, Lord.  God is awesome!
